illustrationfriday: STRENGTH

I'm gonna try to keep doing a postcard a week at least for the illustrationfriday theme. I thought of many obvious things for this week's subject, but I wanted to make it something a bit 'different' and cryptic. My first effort was the one with the big weight on it, and then I got thinking of a better idea, so I did the other one this morning.

The explanation: There's strength in numbers, of course.

illustrationfriday: NIGHT

Well, it has certainly been a long time, eh. I've kept getting the prompt emails with the topic on them each week, but have hardly had time to scratch myself, let alone devote time to drawing. Hell, I've even been letting my other art go, which is pissing me off...

Anyhow, one of my more recent preoccupations/addictions is postcarding. I sometimes send ready-made ones, and sometimes I make them myself. This week, as soon as I saw the topic, I got a cool idea for an illo in my head, and then I thought I'd combine the two interests, and WAHLAH I've illustrated a postcard to use to send off! This one has actually already gone to the mailman (or should that be politically correct and be 'mailperson'?), but I'm pretty happy with the result.

A simple picture for a lovely theme. I used one of my favourite metallic gel pens on a small piece of black backing board. Feedback is always welcome.

illustrationfriday: HEROES

Last year I hosted an Artist Trading Card swap entitled "if I was a superhero" that had quite a few international participants. I wanted mine to all be drawn for this swap, so it fits in perfectly with this week's topic for IllustrationFriday. If you click on the pics and get the actual size, they are BIG pics, so you'll be able to read them and have a bit of a laugh...

PhotoFriday: NERDY

This tree is in our front yard, and I really do have a thing for trees...I LOVE TREES!

Many people have thought my love of trees is a little weird, so maybe I'm nerdy...

illustrationfriday: DIGITAL

I got onto this week's challenge early, and am really quite happy with it. Still haven't got a scanner so had to photograph again, and because it is only a pencil drawing I needed to adjust the levels in photoshop, which gave it the greenish background colour, but I still think it looks ok.

Oh, and in case you cannot see the link to the topic, maybe it would be easier if you think of the topic as 'digit-al'.

PhotoFriday: RARE

The things that went through my head when I saw the topic this week...I thought I could go and take pictures of all sorts of rare things, old, collectibles, you name it. And then I saw my wife doing the dishes and I asked her to look at me and smile, and she did.

Now, this is a RARE picture - my wife at the sink with a smile on her face!
